Read my first updateYOUR STORY, YOUR CHOICE
I know how much it can take to put your experiences into words. If you want to share part of your survival journey, you can send it to me here without giving your name or email.
Each week, I hope to choose one story to reflect on in The Mease Journal. I will only feature stories with permission, and will remove identifying details before sharing. Submission does not guarantee a feature.
Please share only your own experience. Leave out names, addresses, exact dates, workplaces and other details that could identify you or anyone else. You do not need to describe traumatic events in detail.
This is not an emergency or counselling service, and submissions are not monitored continuously. In immediate danger, call 999. Share only when it feels safe for you.
How I handle your storyUse the reference and private withdrawal code shown after submitting to remove your submission. If your story has already appeared on the blog, also email Measeliteraryco@outlook.com with the reference so I can remove the post. Copies shared by other people may remain outside my control.
LET’S TALK BOOKS
Help me choose my next blog topic. Voting starts fresh each Monday.
One vote per browser each week. A random voting marker is saved on this device; no name or email is collected. Results reflect visitors who choose to vote.
Ask me about my books, writing or the journey behind Mease Literary Co. I’ll choose questions to answer in the journal. You don’t need to give your name or email.
Please leave out private or sensitive details about yourself or others. This form is for book and writing questions; for orders, use my contact email.
Enter the reference and code given after submission. If already featured, also email Stephanie with your reference to request removal from the blog.

The subscription costs £28.98 per month from your first payment, with P&P included. Cancel at least 48 hours before your next scheduled payment to stop the next renewal. To cancel, email Measeliteraryco@outlook.com. This renewal deadline does not limit statutory cancellation rights.

Yes. The memoir discusses physical, sexual and emotional abuse. Please consider these themes when choosing it for yourself or as a gift.
CUSTOMER CARE
Please inspect your order on arrival. If your book or any box contents arrive damaged, please email Measeliteraryco@outlook.com within 48 hours where possible, with your order number and photographs of the damage and packaging.
This reporting request does not limit your statutory rights. We will provide refunds, replacements or other remedies where required by UK consumer law. These rights apply to faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods, not only damage in transit. You normally have a 30-day right to reject faulty goods, with further rights continuing afterwards.
You may notify us that you wish to cancel an eligible online purchase within 14 days of delivery and return the goods within a further 14 days. Email us to request cancellation and receive return instructions.
We will refund eligible returned goods and the standard outbound delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the goods back or evidence that you have sent them back, whichever is earlier. We may make a lawful deduction for loss in value caused by handling beyond what is needed to inspect the goods.
Applicable cancellation exceptions may include genuinely perishable goods and sealed products that are unsuitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed. These exceptions do not remove your rights if goods are faulty or misdescribed. A mystery book selection does not by itself remove cancellation rights.
To stop your next scheduled renewal, request cancellation at least 48 hours before the next payment by emailing Measeliteraryco@outlook.com. This renewal deadline does not replace or restrict any statutory cancellation or refund rights.
YOUR INFORMATION
Last updated: 3 October 2026
Stephanie Mease, trading as Mease Literary Co, is responsible for the customer information described here. For privacy questions or requests, email Measeliteraryco@outlook.com.
Mease Literary CoWhen you order through Stripe, we receive information needed to fulfil your order, including your name, email, delivery address, products, payment status and any genre preference you provide. We also use information you send when contacting us, and records of any marketing consent you give. Stripe processes your payment details; we do not receive your full card number.
Order and delivery details are needed to process purchases. Without the necessary information, we cannot fulfil your order. Marketing consent is optional and is never required to buy.
We use your information to fulfil purchases, manage subscriptions and provide order support on the basis of our contract with you. We keep records needed for tax and other legal duties on the basis of legal obligation. We use relevant information to respond to enquiries, prevent misuse and handle disputes on the basis of our legitimate interests in running and protecting the business.
You can submit your own story without a name or email. We store the story, a random reference, submission date, consent record and a hashed withdrawal code. Please avoid identifying details about yourself and others. We do not link stories to orders, use them for marketing, or publish submissions automatically.
Stephanie reviews submissions privately. Our basis for reading and storing a story is your consent, including explicit consent for sensitive health or other special-category information you choose to provide. Permission to quote, edit and discuss a story anonymously on the public blog is a separate optional choice. You can submit without allowing publication. Hosting and database services are provided through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare; they may process technical request information under their own notices. The form does not save your name, email, IP address or signed-in identity with your story.
Unpublished submissions expire after 180 days and are deleted on the next submission or review request. You can remove your submission earlier with its reference and private withdrawal code. Save these safely, as we cannot recover them for you. To withdraw a published feature, email us with your reference so Stephanie can remove it. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful use; copies made by others may remain outside our control. Anonymous publication means removing identifying details, but it cannot guarantee that no reader will recognise an experience.
Reader polls store your chosen option, the week, submission time and a hash of a random browser voting marker. The marker is stored locally only to limit repeat votes; it is not used for advertising or linked to orders. Voting is optional and uses consent. The public poll shows aggregate results, not individual votes.
Ask Stephanie stores your question, random reference, submission date, consent record and hashed withdrawal code. No name or email is required. Questions are reviewed privately on the basis of consent. Public quotation and answers require a separate optional permission. Do not include sensitive or identifying details. Unpublished questions expire after 180 days and are deleted on the next submission or review. Withdraw using your reference and code, or contact Stephanie about an already published feature. Neither form signs you up for marketing. These features use the same hosting and database providers as story submissions.
We send book news, weekly updates and offers by email only when you have separately opted in. Our lawful basis for this is your consent. Buying a product or accepting this policy does not sign you up.
You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe option in a marketing email or by emailing us. This does not affect earlier lawful use or essential order and subscription messages. We may retain a minimal record of your opt-out to ensure we respect it.
We share only the information needed with payment and delivery providers to process and deliver orders, and with advisers or authorities where required for accounting, legal duties or disputes. Stripe provides checkout and subscription payments. Microsoft Outlook is used for customer email. This website is hosted through OpenAI Sites. These providers also handle information under their own privacy notices.
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where we make a restricted international transfer, appropriate protection must apply, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards. Contact us for details about transfers relating to your information.
We retain order and financial records for the period required by applicable tax and accounting rules, and relevant records while needed for outstanding refunds, complaints or legal claims. Enquiry information is kept only while needed to resolve and follow up the enquiry. Marketing details are kept while your consent remains valid, with a minimal opt-out record afterwards. Information no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your personal information. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time.
You can object to use based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing. Email us to exercise your rights. We may need to confirm your identity and normally respond within one month. Some information must be retained to meet legal duties.
The free book club identifies members through sign-in. Where email sign-in is available, Resend processes the email address to deliver a requested login link. The website keeps a protected email identifier, short-lived login records and session records, rather than publicly displaying the address. ChatGPT sign-in remains available during the transition to email sign-in. We store a private account identifier, your chosen display name, current reads and discussion comments. Your display name and posts are public; your email is not displayed. Posts remain until you delete them, leave the club, or they are removed during moderation. Deleting a current-read post also removes its discussion. You can leave the club and delete your club profile and posts from the book club page. Joining does not subscribe you to marketing.
For paid game access, we keep a payment reference, purchase date and access record. Stripe handles payment details. A strictly necessary secure cookie remembers verified game access on your browser for up to one year. Your private access link restores access on another device. Game access records are retained while needed to provide permanent access. Keep your link private; anyone who has it can open your game.
Email sign-in uses a strictly necessary secure cookie to remember your sign-in for up to 30 days. Signing out removes that session. Login links expire after 15 minutes and can only be used once. Email sign-in and club membership do not subscribe you to marketing. Leaving the club also removes its linked email identity and active sessions. We record the version of the club rules you accept and when you accept them. If Stephanie permanently removes a member for breaking the rules, we delete their club profile and posts but retain a private account identifier, removal date and linked email hash to prevent that account from rejoining. These moderation records are used on the basis of our legitimate interests in protecting readers. You can contact Stephanie about a removal or privacy request.
The storefront code does not add advertising trackers or analytics cookies. Genre choices are held temporarily while the page is open. The Lost Grimoire and The Secret Letters save chapter progress in this browser so you can continue on the same device; it is not used for advertising. Game access uses essential secure cookies and private access links. Hosting and payment services may process technical information and use their own essential technologies for security and checkout. Stripe checkout has its own privacy information.
Please email us with any privacy concern so we can investigate. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
We will update this notice if our use of customer information changes.
